Job description
We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position.
Position Overview:
The HR Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient HR processes across recruitment, employee records, attendance, payroll support, and compliance. This role supports a fast-paced manufacturing environment and contributes to smooth workforce operations at Goonite Hygiene Product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Conduct initial phone screens to create shortlists of qualified candidates
- Interview candidates in person for a wide range of roles
- Provide clerical and administrative support
- Compile and update employee records/database
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
- Dealing with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
- Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
- Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
Required Qualifications:
& Experience
- HND/BSc in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field
- 1–2 years HR or administrative experience (manufacturing experience is an advantage)
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian labor laws
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under minimal supervision
- Candidates must be residents of Ibeju-Lekki or its immediate surroundings.
