Position Overview

The Bible Society of Ghana is seeking a dynamic and skilled Wassa Bible Translator to join our expanding team. This role is central to our mission of making the scriptures accessible to the Wassa-speaking community.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate the Bible into the Wassa language
• Prepare and draft translations of the Bible into Wassa for internal review
• Prepare annual plans for translation activities
• Prepare monthly work plans and reports
• Complete daily report forms for the team coordinator to endorse
• Facilitate and participate in community review sessions
• Attend workshops organized as part of the Bible translation exercise
• Serve as a Bible Society of Ghana ambassador or representative in the Wassa community for the Wassa Bible translation project
• Engage in advocacy for the scriptures being translated

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of first degree in Linguistics, Theology, Translation, or equivalent professional qualification
• Proficiency in computer software programmes and familiarity with email and the internet
• Ability to read, write, and speak the Wassa language fluently
