Transport Network Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Transport Network Engineer to join our team at Axian Group. This is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, within our Professional Services division.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain transport networks (DWDM, SDH, IP/MPLS, microwave, fiber)
• Monitor network performance and conduct audits, health checks, and capacity planning
• Troubleshoot faults, perform root-cause analysis, and improve network resilience
• Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and modernization activities
• Coordinate with Planning, Vendors, NOC, Field Teams, and Regulatory on implementation and interference issues
• Maintain accurate network designs, documentation, and operational procedures while supporting integration with mobile and fixed networks

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3-5+ years of experience in telecom transport/network engineering (depending on level)
• Relevant certifications are a plus (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIS/JNCP, HCIA/HCIP, vendor-specific certifications)
