Principal Business Development Officer II (Government and Stakeholder Relations)

About the Role

Reporting to the Zonal Manager, the Principal Business Development Officer II drives zonal business growth, oversees business operations, and safeguards portfolio quality and financial performance. This position ensures alignment of zonal initiatives with the bank's strategic objectives, supports project implementation, and upholds the highest standards of integrity and sound judgment to deliver sustainable, impactful results.

The Officer leads business stakeholder development engagement within the zone, building and managing high-level relationships with government institutions, regulators, private sector actors, and development partners to unlock financing opportunities and strengthen institutional presence.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development Management

• Monitor implementation of policies, procedures, activities, and decisions within the respective zone
• Provide technical support to developmental activities and clients
• Participate in monitoring and evaluating ongoing and completed projects
• Identify and evaluate business opportunities within the respective zone
• Monitor implementation of loan and credit policies, processes, and procedures
• Review and approve loan and credit applications
• Control overdrafts related to development project financing and activities
• Develop and implement comprehensive zone work plans
• Ensure adequate work planning to support development activities in the respective zone

Required Qualifications

• Experience in business development, government relations, or stakeholder engagement
• Strong understanding of agricultural financing and development banking

• Demonstrated ability to work with government institutions and development partners
• Sound financial acumen and portfolio management experience
