About the Organization

Isamilo International School in Mwanza, Tanzania, is owned by the Anglican Church of Tanzania under the auspices of the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza. Established in 1956, the school initially served the children of expatriates and missionaries working in the area, particularly those in the medical and mining sectors, as well as families from the local Tanzanian community. Since its inception, the school has grown significantly, transitioning from a small institution with limited facilities to a well-resourced school offering an international curriculum.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, qualified, and motivated Laboratory Technician to support the effective delivery of science education within our primary and secondary school. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing laboratory materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe laboratory practices for students and staff. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for science lessons and experiments
• Assist science teachers during practical lessons when required
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure all apparatus is clean, functional, and safely stored
• Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and organizing supplies
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and procedures
• Dispose of chemical waste and hazardous materials according to safety guidelines
• Support the organization and preparation of practical examinations

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
