Curator II – Zoology

About the Position

The National Museum of Tanzania (NMT) is seeking 3 skilled professionals for the position of Curator II – Zoology. This is a full-time role based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection and acquisition of museum collections
• Assist in documenting and registering museum collections
• Assist in storing and conserving museum collections
• Assist in evaluating and reporting the status of museum collections
• Participate in the preparation of displays and publicizing collections
• Participate in the preparation of public education kits in the area of specialization
• Conduct programs for temporary, special, and permanent exhibitions
• Execute the installation of exhibitions
• Prepare and distribute publicity materials, exhibition catalogues, and displays
• Prepare exhibition plans and reports
• Liaise with stakeholders and organizations
• Collect and evaluate data in the field of exhibition operations
• Coordinate simple research and technical experiments for exhibitions
• Prepare new designs and models for temporary, special, and permanent exhibitions, performances, and programs
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Zoology from a recognized institution
