Iringa Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) is seeking a skilled Plumber (Artisan II) to maintain and repair water supply and sanitation systems in Dar es Salaam.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Repair all detected water leakages
• Install water meters for customers
• Participate in rehabilitation of water supply structures
• Monitor and report unauthorized water connections
• Report water losses and distribution faults, taking immediate corrective measures
• Carry out water disconnections for debtors and reconnections following payment
• Maintain accurate records of water connections, disconnections, and reconnections
• Prepare tools and materials required for repairs and new installations
• Ensure proper alignment of all pipe installations, repairs, and maintenance
• Repair all water pipe bursts properly
• Identify and mark manholes requiring repair
• Inspect manhole step irons (crampons) to ensure they are secure and safe
• Install and fix crampons inside manholes as needed
• Strictly follow operating instructions for sewerage machines and equipment
• Assist in collecting customer sewerage data and information
• Report sewerage pipe faults to responsible officers
• Prepare and maintain updated lists of customers receiving sewer services
• Monitor sewerage connections and recommend necessary rectification measures
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
