About the Organization

The Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania (AKHST) is an institution of The Aga Khan Development Network. AKHST operates the Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam, a JCI-accredited ultramodern 170-bed facility that serves as a tertiary care, referral, and teaching hospital.

The hospital completed a major expansion phase focused on key clinical services including cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, orthopaedics, trauma, diagnostic imaging, critical care, and women and child health programmes. The hospital is a teaching site for The Aga Khan University, offering postgraduate medical education programs and accredited internship placements.

As part of an integrated health systems approach, AKHST operates 26 outreach health facilities across Tanzania, with plans to establish 35 facilities nationwide, all linked to the main hospital in Dar es Salaam.

Position Overview

AKHST is seeking an enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Nurse Manager to lead nursing operations in the Operating Theatre.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing service activities of the Operating Theatre
• Provide day-to-day clinical supervision
