  • The Research & Development (R&D) Assistant Manager – Regulatory Affairs is responsible for overseeing the company’s product innovation, regulatory compliance, and audit processes.
  • The role leads efforts in new product development, packaging material innovation, and compliance with statutory bodies such as NAFDAC, SON, and ISO.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all regulatory affairs related to product registration, renewals, and certification (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, ISO, etc.).
  • Ensure timely renewal and compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and auditors to maintain compliance and manage audits.
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation, technical dossiers, and registration materials.
  • Coordinate internal and external company audits (regulatory, quality, and certification audits).
  • Ensure full compliance with quality management systems and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the maintenance of ISO and other quality certifications.
  • Prepare periodic reports on product performance, regulatory status, and innovation pipeline.
  • Bill of Materials (BoM) and recipe management, ensuring accuracy and standardization across production.
  • Lead the formulation, testing, and scaling of new food products in line with market trends and customer needs.
  • Manage the modification and optimization of existing products for improved quality, cost, and performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in R&D, regulatory affairs, or quality management within the FMCG/food manufacturing sector.
  • Experience with NAFDAC, SON, and ISO regulatory processes is essential.
  • Proven track record in new product development and supplier quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of food regulations, quality standards, and documentation.
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills.
  • Creative approach to innovation and product improvement.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Other Conditions:
  • Accommodation may be provided for an initial 6 months if compelling
  • Experience from the manufacturing sectorwill be preferred.
