Job Summary - The Research & Development (R&D) Assistant Manager – Regulatory Affairs is responsible for overseeing the company’s product innovation, regulatory compliance, and audit processes. - The role leads efforts in new product development, packaging material innovation, and compliance with statutory bodies such as NAFDAC, SON, and ISO. Key Responsibilities - Manage all regulatory affairs related to product registration, renewals, and certification (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, ISO, etc.). - Ensure timely renewal and compliance with local and international regulatory requirements. - Liaise with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and auditors to maintain compliance and manage audits. - Prepare and maintain product documentation, technical dossiers, and registration materials. - Coordinate internal and external company audits (regulatory, quality, and certification audits). - Ensure full compliance with quality management systems and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives. - Support the maintenance of ISO and other quality certifications. - Prepare periodic reports on product performance, regulatory status, and innovation pipeline. - Bill of Materials (BoM) and recipe management, ensuring accuracy and standardization across production. - Lead the formulation, testing, and scaling of new food products in line with market trends and customer needs. - Manage the modification and optimization of existing products for improved quality, cost, and performance. Requirements - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in R&D, regulatory affairs, or quality management within the FMCG/food manufacturing sector. - Experience with NAFDAC, SON, and ISO regulatory processes is essential. - Proven track record in new product development and supplier quality management. - Strong knowledge of food regulations, quality standards, and documentation. - Excellent project management and analytical skills. - Creative approach to innovation and product improvement. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Other Conditions: - Accommodation may be provided for an initial 6 months if compelling - Experience from the manufacturing sectorwill be preferred. Salary N450,000 - N600,000 / month.
