About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Associate Producer to join our news production team. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to work on live television broadcasts while contributing creative ideas and supporting all aspects of show production.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Executive Producer for daily job tasks and direction
• Write scripts for the show that are informative, conversational, and engaging
• Prepare and stack the show rundown for broadcast
• Write and post daily content on social media outlets
• Prep guests for their live segments and manage guest relations
• Time segments to ensure each guest has adequate time to deliver their message
• Work closely with clients to improve the quality of their segments
• Assist with line producing and on-location shoots
• Help with video editing when needed
• Book visually engaging segments for the show
• Collaborate with show producers to write voice-overs, manage live shots, handle guest segments, and write compelling teases
• Create production elements for scripts, including tape and graphics
• Identify news stories, select video and sound bites, oversee editing, conduct interviews, and write stories for television and digital platforms
• Contribute new creative ideas to enhance the show

Work Arrangement

This position operates remotely but requires availability to come to the station on short notice. Weekday hours are 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM, with occasional extended hours as needed. Availability for weekend station events is required.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• 1-3 years of experience producing live television
• Proficiency in broadcast rundown stacking
• Strong script writing skills for television
