Job Purpose
The BBC Media Action office in Nigeria is seeking a Research and Data Manager to lead the timely and efficient implementation of all research aspects for a reproductive health project in northern Nigeria.
The Research and Data Manager will be responsible for communicating, reporting, and disseminating learnings to the donor, project partners, and a range of audiences within established time, budget, and quality guidelines.
Reporting Structure
This role reports to the Head of Research and Learning and has a dotted line to the Project Director, being accountable for all deliverables to the Project Director. The position is based in Abuja and will require travel to other states within Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of all research activities under the project and serve as the main contact point to the donor on research-related requests and deliverables
- Work closely with the Head of Research and Learning to ensure all project research is technically well designed and implemented
- Seek technical research assistance from the Cross Country team where required to support delivery and communication of research findings
- Engage with project partners and agencies to design, coordinate data collection, and conduct analysis to generate insights on reach and effective reach of project outputs and activities
- Design and manage weekly face-to-face sentiment interviews in each project focal state with the procured agency, including conducting pre-testing
- Manage and analyse quantitative and qualitative data across project states to produce insights that support project strategy and enable evidence-based decision-making for content
- Collaborate with the technical research support cross-country team, including Senior Research Managers and Head of Research, as appropriate
