A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this role. Position Overview:
  • The Procurement Officer is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services required for the smooth operation of the organization.
  • The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with company policies, budgetary controls, and ethical procurement standards.
  • The Procurement Officer also manages vendor relationships, monitors supplier performance, and supports cost optimization across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors in line with company standards.
  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and related procurement documentation.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency and value for money.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods and services to support operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and inventory reports.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues relating to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to align procurement with approved budgets.
  • Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
  • Manage contracts and service agreements with vendors and service providers.
  • Support inventory control by tracking stock levels and initiating reorders when necessary.
  • Prepare procurement reports and provide regular updates to management.
Requirements:
  • Interested candidates should possess an HND qualification with 2 years experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Ability to source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors effectively.
  • Good understanding of cost control, budgeting, and value-for-money principle.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement requests and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong record keeping and documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement transactions.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skill.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationship.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools(Excel, Word, email).
