Credit Officer — Owena

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent. About Job: We are currently looking for talented and detail-oriented Credit Officers to join our growing credit team to assess credit applications, perform risk analysis, recommend credit decisions, monitor loan portfolios and ensure high-quality credit standards while supporting business growth objectives. Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate credit applications (individuals, SMEs, corporates) and prepare detailed credit appraisal memos

• Perform financial statement analysis, cash flow projections, ratio analysis and repayment capacity assessment

• Conduct site visits / business inspections and prepare field visit reports

• Recommend appropriate credit limits, pricing, collateral requirements and loan covenants

• Present credit proposals to credit committees when required

• Monitor assigned credit portfolio – early warning detection, follow-up on past-due accounts

• Ensure strict compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines (CBN, NDIC etc.) and best practices

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit files and documentation

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while managing credit risk

• Contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes and risk management framework

Requirements:

• Minimum of OND is required.

• Hands-on credit / risk experience in a commercial bank, microfinance bank, fintech lending company or non-bank financial institution is desired but not compulsory

• Good understanding of collateral documentation and security perfection

• Good interpersonal skills
