Credit Officer — Owena

About Job: We are currently looking for talented and detail-oriented Credit Officers to join our growing credit team to assess credit applications, perform risk analysis, recommend credit decisions, monitor loan portfolios and ensure high-quality credit standards while supporting business growth objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate credit applications (individuals, SMEs, corporates) and prepare detailed credit appraisal memos - Perform financial statement analysis, cash flow projections, ratio analysis and repayment capacity assessment - Conduct site visits / business inspections and prepare field visit reports - Recommend appropriate credit limits, pricing, collateral requirements and loan covenants - Present credit proposals to credit committees when required - Monitor assigned credit portfolio – early warning detection, follow-up on past-due accounts - Ensure strict compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines (CBN, NDIC etc.) and best practices - Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit files and documentation - Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while managing credit risk - Contribute to continuous improvement of credit processes and risk management framework Requirements: - Minimum of OND is required. - Hands-on credit / risk experience in a commercial bank, microfinance bank, fintech lending company or non-bank financial institution is desired but not compulsory - Good understanding of collateral documentation and security perfection - Good interpersonal skills
