Job Purpose
The BBC Media Action office in Lagos is seeking a Creative Lead to spearhead a multi-year, multi-media, multi-output Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programme focused on reproductive health and family planning in Northern Nigeria. This is the second most senior role in this high-profile, significantly budgeted project.
As Creative Lead, you will work closely with the Project Director to ensure all creative outputs are delivered to a high standard, on time, and in alignment with the expectations of BBC Media Action and our funding partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as creative director and strategic leader across a complex, multi-partner ecosystem
- Envision and develop a Narrative Universe stemming from a central TV drama series
- Create and co-create content across multiple platforms and formats in partnership with diverse stakeholders
- Provide strategic and creative direction to commercial partners (TV networks, advertising agencies, digital agencies, media planning and buying agencies, mobile service providers, influencers, content creators, and celebrities)
- Provide strategic and creative direction to social impact partners (NGOs, social marketing organisations, and family planning stakeholders)
- Oversee design and execution of a wide range of outputs including mass media, social media, IVR systems, outreach initiatives, toolkits, and dissemination products
- Ensure all content across different audience segments is engaging, entertaining, and achieves project outcomes
- Coordinate, commission, liaise with, and review all outputs for quality assurance
- Manage all creative work within stipulated budgets
About the Role
This position requires a master conductor approach—orchestrating collaboration between commercial creative and production partners alongside NGOs and social marketing organisations. You will bridge the commercial and social impact sectors to deliver cohesive, impactful communication across a Narrative Universe designed to drive behaviour change in reproductive health and family planning.
