Consultant Radiologist - Echolab Radiology and Laboratory Services, Lagos

About the Role

Join a leading organization as a Consultant Radiologist, where you will interpret and report on a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies while collaborating with clinical teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and report on diagnostic imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and mammograms
• Ensure reports are transcribed and authorized on a timely and continuing basis
• Collaborate with referring clinicians to provide diagnostic insights and recommendations
• Deliver timely and accurate reporting in accordance with departmental protocols and turnaround times
• Facilitate efficient patient flows and support treatment objectives through accessible imaging and prompt reporting
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions
• Make telephone contact with referring clinicians to advise of critical findings requiring urgent intervention
• Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality
• Supervise and mentor junior radiology staff and radiographers
• Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance initiatives
• Identify training gaps and ensure closure through appropriate learning and development programs for junior medical staff
• Adhere to all protocols, guidelines, and practice standards pertaining to clinical practice
• Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards in medical imaging and reporting
• Collaborate with management, radiologists, and radiographers on matters pertaining to unit efficiency
• Alternate with other Consultant Radiologists and provide cover during short-term absences, including weekends and off-duty leave
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department, Radiology
• Stay updated with advancements in radiology and participate in continuous professional development

Requirements

Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in radiology.
