Job description
## Title: Logistics Officer
Overall Purpose of Job
Effective tracking and coordination of inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with supply chain procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and revalidate inbound and outbound goods
- Dispatch validated goods from Lagos to Port Harcourt and client locations in a timely manner
- Process Form M and PAAR documentation
- Adhere to supply chain processes and procedures
- Prepare weekly logistics reports
- Liaise with freight forwarders and clearing agents
- Coordinate port operations in collaboration with clearing agents
- Update import delivery schedules
- Log vessel arrival dates and expected consignment clearing dates
- Ensure consignments (via air and sea) are cleared within agreed timeframes: 10 working days after vessel discharge for sea freight and 4 working days from NAHCO for air freight
- Complete goods validation forms (GVF) for all receipts
- Liaison with clearing agents, relevant government agencies, and clients
- Ensure invoicing processes are completed at client sites
- Communicate with relevant staff regarding stock management at other locations
- Prepare necessary delivery documents for each client site
- Oversee timely delivery of goods to clients in Lagos and Port Harcourt
Required Qualifications
- University degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, preferably in the maritime or oil and gas industries
Required Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and practices
- Understanding of and adherence to global trade regulations for international operations
- Problem-solving skills with ability to quickly identify, analyse, and resolve logistics issues
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
