Human Resource Intern at Godiya Cherished Care for Humanitarian Response Initiative (GCCHRI)

Position Overview

Godiya Cherished Care for Humanitarian Response Initiative (GCCHRI) is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support the HR team with recruitment, employee relations, training, and administrative duties. This role offers hands-on experience in HR practices and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and selection processes, including job posting, CV collection, screening, longlisting, and organizing written tests and interviews
• Support employee onboarding and induction, tracking programs across GCCHRI departments
• Draft employment contracts for new staff members
• Compile and maintain personnel files for new hires, ensuring all required documents are complete according to GCCHRI's checklist
• Ensure new employees and supervisors sign job descriptions with copies filed appropriately
• Maintain and continuously update employee records and databases
• Track staff movements including annual leave, special leave, and public holidays; generate monthly reports
• Update and track timesheets for all staff
• Prepare payroll tracking sheets for review
• Ensure staff sign pay slips at the end of each month
• Coordinate training and development programs
• Support employee engagement and relations initiatives
• Assist with HR policy implementation
• Manage hard and electronic filing of staff lifecycle documents (from hiring to departure)
• Maintain proper filing of tax declarations and payment records
• Review personnel files to identify gaps, initiate corrective actions, and update verification checklists
• Ensure all HR files remain compliant and current
• Provide regular reports to the Executive Director
• Perform additional tasks as assigned
