About the Role
A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to provide overall managerial and technical support to all Child Protection activities in the field office. The Child Protection Coordinator will lead implementation of Child Protection activities with backstopping from the Child Protection and Child Rights Governance Thematic Program Manager.
Contract Details
Duration: Three months with the possibility of extension
Location: Borno State (Magumeri, Gubio, Kaga, and Damasak) — Roving position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall managerial and technical support to all Child Protection activities
- Prepare and monitor implementation of project plans at all levels, ensuring compliance with detailed implementation plans
- Lead identification and procurement of materials required to attain project outputs, including support to partners
- Coordinate with Logistics to ensure timely and safe delivery of supplies allocated to field activities
- Manage budget allocation and implementation planning
- Execute project-level decision making and coordinate at the local level
- Manage staff performance, capacity strengthening, and wellbeing
- Supervise and provide support to staff implementing the Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and nutrition components of the project
- Build and maintain a solid project team focused on project deliverables
- Directly line manage project officers and other relevant positions under the projects allocated
- Travel to field locations monthly to supervise activities and work closely with partner staff (SCI), who lead Child Protection activities at all four implementation locations
- Perform other functions related to Child Protection activities
Work Expectations
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and vary working hours accordingly.
