R&D Manager at Proforce Limited

About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent. The R&D Manager will lead the research and development initiatives of the company by overseeing the design, testing, and implementation of new products and improvements to existing ones. This role plays a critical part in driving innovation, ensuring product quality, reducing cost, and maintaining competitiveness in the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement R&D strategies in alignment with the company's goals
• Lead product innovation and improvement projects from concept to launch
• Supervise and support the R&D team in conducting research, product trials, and testing
• Analyze industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies
• Collaborate with production, quality, and marketing teams to ensure product feasibility and market relevance
• Ensure all new products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Manage the R&D budget, timelines, and resource allocation efficiently
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all R&D processes and outcomes
• Liaise with external research bodies, suppliers, and technology partners where necessary
• Report R&D progress and outcomes to senior management regularly

Education & Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Product Development, or related fields
• Additional certifications in Project Management or Innovation Management are an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in product development or R&D within a manufacturing environment
• At least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role

Skills & Competencies

• Strong background in research, product design, and development processes
• Excellent project management and leadership skills
• Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into practical solutions
• Proficiency in using data analysis tools and R&D software
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes
