We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position. Position Overview: - We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Assistant to support the payroll function of the organization. - The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Payroll Accountant and assist in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing in line with company policies and statutory requirements. Duties / Responsibilities - Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll under the guidance of the Payroll Accountant. - Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salaries, allowances, deductions, and benefits. - Support the computation of statutory deductions such as PAYE, WHTax, pension, NSITF, ITF and other applicable contributions. - Assist in reconciling payroll data and resolving payroll-related discrepancies. - Prepare payroll schedules and supporting documentation for review by the Payroll Accountant. - Respond to basic payroll queries from employees and escalate complex issues to the Payroll Accountant. - Ensure payroll information is treated with confidentiality and accuracy. - Support compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant labour and tax regulations. - Assist during payroll audits and provide required documentation when needed. Experience: & Qualifications - HND / BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. - 1–2 years’ experience in payroll or accounting support roles will be an advantage. - Basic knowledge of payroll processes, statutory deductions, and labour regulations. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. - Experience with payroll software will be an added advantage Required Skills & Competencies: - Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. - Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision. - Good organizational and time-management skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - High level of integrity and confidentiality.
