Kitchen Steward

An established company is recruiting for the following position. Position Overview: - We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Steward to act as the backbone of our culinary operations. - This role is vital to ensuring our chefs have the tools they need and our guests dine on spotless service ware. Key Responsibilities: - ​Operate industrial dishwashing machinery, ensuring correct chemical dilutions and temperatures are maintained. - ​Wash cookware, delicate glassware, and specialized culinary tools (mandolines, blenders, etc.) according to safety standards. - ​Sort and stack cleaned items systematically to prevent breakage and ensure quick access for the line team. - Execute a rigorous cleaning schedule for floors, walls, and ceiling vents to meet health department regulations. - ​Empty, sanitize, and reline waste bins; manage the separation of recycling, compost, and general waste. - ​Assist with the unloading of delivery trucks and the organized rotation of stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method. - ​Perform basic food preparation tasks during peak periods, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients, under the guidance of the Sous Chef. Requirements: - Candidates should possess an NCE, OND, SSCE / GCE / NECO qualifications with 1 - 3 years work experience.
