Kitchen Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional. Position Overview: OF THE ROLE - The kitchen Assistant works closely with the Sous Chef, Pastry Chef and Head Chef to ensure that the kitchen is clean and operational. Key Responsibilities: - Properly cleaning and sanitising all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene - Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies - Organising and correctly storing food supplies - Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Head Chef’s instructions - Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored properly - Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuff and helping to prepare salads and desserts - Disposing of rubbish - Organising linen laundry - Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and kitchen tools or areas - Prompt serving of meals Required Qualifications: & EXPERIENCE - OND qualification from a reputable polytechnic or SSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate)/NCE - 2+ years’ experience in food prep - Good communication skills - Able to follow instructions and work in a team - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
