Job Purpose
The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children in the early years (typically ages 2–5). The role focuses on laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning through play-based and developmentally appropriate practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum framework.
- Use play-based and inquiry-based learning strategies.
- Support early literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
- Observe and assess children’s progress and maintain accurate records.
Child Development & Welfare
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Monitor children’s emotional and social development.
- Identify developmental delays or concerns and escalate appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies.
Classroom Management
- Maintain an organised, stimulating, and child-friendly classroom.
- Prepare learning materials and resources.
- Promote positive behaviour through guidance and reinforcement.
Parent Engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Provide guidance to parents on supporting learning at home.
Compliance & Professional Standards
- Adhere to school policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of child and family information.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Required Qualifications:
& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or NCE in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Relevant teaching certification
- 2–4 years’ experience in early years education (preferred)
- Knowledge of EYFS or relevant early childhood curriculum framework
