We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening.
Position Overview:
- An Assistant Chef supports the head chef by prepping ingredients (washing, chopping, peeling), cooking dishes, maintaining kitchen sanitation, and managing inventory.
- Key duties include operating equipment, following recipes, and ensuring food safety compliance. They are crucial for maintaining high-volume kitchen efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Washing, peeling, cutting, and seasoning ingredients; preparing sauces, dressings, and, in some cases, desserts or salads.
- Cooking Assistance: Assisting with cooking tasks under the guidance of a Chef de Partie or Head Chef.
- Sanitation & Hygiene: Maintaining a "clean as you go" work area, cleaning appliances, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Inventory & Stock Control: Checking, rotating, and storing inventory, including monitoring ingredient freshness and stock levels.
- Service & Support: Preparing the dining area, assisting with special functions, and ensuring high standards of food presentation.
