Position Context
Under the direct supervision of the ICT Officer in Niamey and the global supervision of the Senior Regional Migration Officer (SRMO) and Chief of Mission (CoM), the incumbent will demonstrate the following technical and behavioral competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in securing the implementation of IOM ICT standards, policies and guidelines regarding network systems, IT security, software licensing, telecommunications and ICT procurement
- Maintain Niamey and sub-office Local Area Network (LAN), computer hardware, backup and connectivity, including LAN security-related issues
- Monitor and administer mission-critical VPN-based connectivity and provide helpdesk support to sub-offices
- Support administration of servers providing ICT services (Internet, file sharing, antivirus software and other services) and configure these services on Niamey and sub-office desktops and laptops
- Create and manage an overall tracking system for ICT equipment inventory
- Perform virus detection, removal and prevention for servers and clients, ensuring the latest protections are in place
