Position Overview
Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) is seeking experienced Professors/Associate Professors in Nuclear Engineering, specializing in Nuclear Materials and Fuel Cycle. This is a leadership position that combines academic excellence with research innovation and institutional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in designing, developing, and implementing teaching and learning programmes within the Institute
- Develop and implement the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization
- Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages nationally, regionally, and internationally
- Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies in your area of specialization
- Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within your field
- Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
- Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
- Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
- Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
- Supervise student thesis, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
- Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
- Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
- Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
- Mobilize resources to support research and academic initiatives
