## Title: Professor/Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering - Nuclear Materials and Fuel Cycle

Position Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) is seeking experienced Professors/Associate Professors in Nuclear Engineering, specializing in Nuclear Materials and Fuel Cycle. This is a leadership position that combines academic excellence with research innovation and institutional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in designing, developing, and implementing teaching and learning programmes within the Institute
  • Develop and implement the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization
  • Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages nationally, regionally, and internationally
  • Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies in your area of specialization
  • Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within your field
  • Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
  • Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
  • Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
  • Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
  • Supervise student thesis, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
  • Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
  • Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
  • Mobilize resources to support research and academic initiatives
