Position Overview
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. The Finance and Administration Intern will support the finance and administrative functions of the organization for a period of one year, gaining requisite experience to advance their career. This includes assisting with financial record-keeping, processing of documents, administrative support, and ensuring adherence to internal procedures and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Petty Cash Management
- Prepare timely petty cash payments
- Maintain petty cash float via M-Pesa at approved levels
- Process petty cash requests efficiently
- Disburse petty cash only upon satisfactory verification of accurate documentation, authorized transactions, and alignment with financial system requirements
- Record petty cash payment vouchers daily in the cash/bank sub-journal
- Ensure petty cash documentation is filed for record-keeping and facilitate monthly reconciliation
- Support petty cash documentation and facilitate spot checks as needed
- Maintain custody of the office M-Pesa cash fund
Payment Processing and Documentation
- Prepare payment vouchers with proper coding to respective accounts
- Ensure all transactions are properly and fully documented, approved, and recorded in the cash/bank sub-journal
- Prepare and file supporting documentation according to Brooke EA procedures
Expense Reporting and Review
- Review expense reports (travel and operational) for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure expense reports are fully approved and documented
Accounting Support
- Assist in checking financial documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in proper coding of expenses in line with relevant systems and procedures
