Main Responsibilities

• Attend to antenatal mothers, review reports, and conduct safe deliveries
• Undertake clinical procedures and examinations
• Carry out ward rounds with Senior Consultants
• Consult on cases requiring guidance from Senior House Officers
• Oversee the running of the department
• Assist management in drawing up and implementing policies and procedures for the department
• Advise and guide management on procurement of equipment and supplies
• Coach and mentor Senior House Officers
• Supervise Senior House Officers and Elective Students
• Ensure Hospital policies and administrative regulations are well-known and understood by staff
• Liaise with HR & Talent Development to ensure proper staffing levels
• Conduct CPD activities to ensure high standards of competency and efficiency in the department
• Ensure patients receive utmost attention and care at all times
• Follow up on patient complaints and concerns
• Conduct elective and emergency surgeries

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery
• Master of Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MMed)
• Registration with KMPDC
• ECOG, EmONC, ALSO certifications
