Senior Non-General Underwriter

About the Role

MSVL Group is seeking a qualified Senior Non-General Underwriter to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. In this role, you will manage underwriting operations across medical, travel, and group life insurance products, ensuring compliance with guidelines while delivering excellent service to clients and insurers.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle medical, travel, and group life underwriting tasks including additions, deletions, quotations, debit/credit notes, medical cards, travel covers, and group life scheme updates in accordance with underwriting guidelines
• Liaise with insurers and clients regarding documentation, reconciliations, policy issuance, and follow-ups to ensure timely service delivery
• Review quotations and risk notes to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Maintain accurate and confidential underwriting records
• Enforce approved payment processes and procedures
• Provide operational support during peak periods and perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Insurance, Business, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in Medical, Travel, or Group Life underwriting
• Strong understanding of insurance products, processes, and compliance requirements
• High accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and underwriting systems
