A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this role. Position Overview:
  • Guide the Council on their duties and responsibilities including on matters of governance;
  • Assist the Council in carrying out the following;
  • Council induction and training,
  • Updating the Council and Committee Charters,
  • Preparation of Council work plans,
  • Council Evaluation,
  • Governance Audit,
  • Implementation of Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Ensure timely preparation and circulation of Council and Committee papers;
  • Timely prepare and circulate Council and Committee minutes;
  • Be the custodian of the seal of the Institution and account to the Council for its use;
  • Maintain and update the register of the conflicts of interest;
  • Ensure that Council members are aware of all relevant laws affecting the Institution;
  • Facilitate effective communication between the Institution and Stakeholders;
  • Ensure that annual returns are promptly filed with the relevant authorities; and
  • Except in exceptional circumstances, ensure that Board and Committee papers are circulated in advance of any meeting;
  • Perform any other relevant duty as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor of Council from time to time.
Job Specification
  • Bachelor Degree in Laws/Social Sciences from an accredited and recognized Institution;
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Corporation Secretary or in a similar position in the public sector.
  • Must be a Certified Secretary (CS)
  • Membership of the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya and in good standing;
  • Certificate in leadership course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
