## Title: Branch Underwriting Analyst

About the Role

The Branch Underwriting Analyst will be responsible for executing effective and efficient operational performance of the branch office in accordance with the company's policies and practices that govern internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess proposed risks within set standards to accurately determine the risk exposure for the business
  • Process underwriting transactions including new business, renewals, invitations, declarations, endorsements, reconciliations, and cancellations in accordance with underwriting guidelines
  • Handle client inquiries regarding insurance products and make recommendations on suitable coverage options
  • Liaise with intermediaries and direct clients on policy-related issues to ensure accurate information is provided
  • Obtain relevant details from clients and agents to enable provision of accurate quotations
  • Prepare quotations on the GIS system in association with the Branch Manager
  • Ensure proposal forms, Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation, and all underwriting documents are completed for all new business
  • Process timely debiting of all business and issue policy documents within underwriting timelines
  • Manage premium collection and issue premium payment receipts
  • Conduct daily banking of premiums received and maintain proper records
  • Follow up on debt collection and premium payments
  • Maintain positive working relationships with intermediaries, clients, and service providers
  • Ensure no outstanding or hanging transactions remain unresolved
  • Receive claims documentation and follow up on processing and payment
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made
  • Provide high-quality customer service by responding to client inquiries via walk-in, telephone, and email, and efficiently address their concerns
  • Manage petty cash by ensuring all expenses are accounted for and following up with finance on service provider payments
  • Conduct inquiries on the GIS system as needed
  • Perform office administrative duties
  • Apply credit control policies as required
