Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III will perform the following duties:

• Deliver specialized training in plumbing technology in accordance with approved curricula and established standards of instruction
• Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional aids
• Design, administer, and evaluate examinations and assignments to assess trainees' knowledge, skills, and competencies
• Undertake research and innovation activities under the guidance and mentorship of a senior trainer to enhance instructional content and methodology
• Supervise trainees in the execution of projects, industrial attachments, and practical work to ensure the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements for appointment:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen
• Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum Grade D (Plain) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Hold a Diploma in one of the following disciplines from a recognized institution:
  • Technical Education (Plumbing Technology/Water Technology)
  • Building Technology/Water Technology (Plumbing)
  • Education/Technical Education with specialization in Plumbing Technology
  • Or equivalent qualification
• Be registered with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET)

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculum
