## Title: Graphics Design, Gaming & Animation Tutor (Terms 3 & 4)

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified tutor to deliver Terms 3 and 4 of the Advanced Diploma (Game/3D track). You will guide learners through practical, portfolio-ready outcomes—from ideation and asset creation in Term 3 to advanced animation techniques in Term 4. The role emphasizes sound pipeline habits and fair, skills-based assessment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Animation, Game Development, Computer Graphics, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 2+ years of teaching/training experience, or strong, recent industry experience with a solid portfolio

Term 3: Game Idea → Assets → Level

Game Design & Ideation:

  • Concise Game Design Documents (GDDs)
  • Moodboards and scope control/MVP thinking

Blender Modeling:

  • Foundation modeling (hard-surface and organic)
  • Clean topology (quads, bevels, modifiers)
  • Scale discipline and deformation-aware edge flow

Retopology & UVs:

  • UDIM and packed UVs
  • Consistent texel density
  • Strategic seam placement

Substance 3D Painter:

  • PBR metal/rough workflow
  • High-to-low bakes (AO, Curvature, Normal)
  • Smart masks and Unity export/channel packing

Unity (URP Basics):

  • Import pipeline (units, axes)
  • Prefabs, colliders, and LODs
  • Lightmapping and probes
  • Navmesh workflow from block-out to polished pass
  • Basic post-processing

Performance Optimization:

  • Draw calls versus atlasing strategies
  • LOD implementation
  • Texture budgets for mobile and desktop platforms

Term 4: Maya, Arnold, Rigging & Animation

Digital Preproduction:

  • Story beats and shot lists
  • Timing sheets
  • Camera basics

Maya Modeling:

  • Deformation-ready quads and supporting loops
  • Professional naming conventions and scene hygiene

Lookdev & Texturing in Maya:

  • Arnold Standard Surface workflow
  • Roughness and specular ranges
  • Displacement and normal map usage
  • UDIM workflows

Lighting & Rendering (Arnold):

  • 3-point and naturalistic lighting setups
  • Exposure and sampling strategy
  • AOVs and denoising
  • Linear and ACES workflow

Rigging:

  • Joint placement and orientation
  • IK/FK systems
  • Constraints and control rigging
