About the Role

A dynamic creative team is expanding and seeking talented designers to join their growing organization. You will play a key role in conceptualizing and creating culturally inspired handcrafted products that celebrate African heritage.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design culturally inspired products that reflect African heritage
• Sketch design ideas clearly and translate them into physical prototypes
• Handcraft products using various materials including wood, clay, fabric, beads, metal, and natural materials
• Develop production-ready pieces that are both functional and beautiful
• Collaborate with the creative team to refine designs, improve quality, and maintain brand identity
• Participate in the full creative process: ideation, sketching, prototyping, material sourcing, and final product execution
• Ensure consistency in craftsmanship, cultural accuracy, and product quality

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a creative field
• Proven experience in handcrafted product design, artisan work, or practical crafting
• Strong sketching and conceptual design skills (both hand and digital)
• Hands-on ability to mold, carve, shape, assemble, and finish different materials
• Experience making prototypes and transforming ideas into tangible products
• Creativity, originality, and passion for African culture, symbolism, and storytelling
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects
• Keen eye for detail, texture, color, and functionality
