Busbar Processing Technician

The Busbar Processing Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, modification, and assembly of cop- per and aluminium busbars used in electrical switchboards and power distribution systems. The role requires precision, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of electrical clearances, current ratings, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: - Fabricate, cut, bend, punch, drill, and assemble copper and aluminium busbars according to engineering drawings - Interpret busbar layout drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications - Operate busbar processing machinery including punching, bending, and cutting equipment - Maintain required electrical clearances and creepage distances - Ensure correct dimensional tolerances, alignment, and surface finishing - Perform quality inspections and measurements using appropriate tools - Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times - Assist with busbar installation into switchboards and panel assemblies - Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment Requirements: - Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) - Minimum 3 years' experience in busbar fabrication or a similar role within switchboard manufacturing - Strong understanding of power distribution systems and busbar design principles - Experience working with copper and aluminium conductors - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation - Experience operating busbar punching, cutting, and bending machines - Knowledge of electrical standards relating to busbar spacing, insulation, and fault levels - High level of precision and attention to detail - Strong understanding of workshop safety practices
