General Manager - Operations (Sodium Silicate) at MSVL Group

About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to lead operations at our sodium silicate manufacturing facility in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with quality standards
• Design and implement business strategies, set growth targets, and drive profitability improvements
• Maintain budgets, optimize costs, and establish policies and processes for operational excellence
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance development to build a high-performing workforce
• Evaluate operations, improve financial and business outcomes, and report regularly to the Board and Chairman
• Provide timely solutions to challenges such as profit decline, operational bottlenecks, and workforce issues

Required Experience

• 20-23 years of operational experience
• African experience strongly preferred (Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda)

Mandatory Technical Expertise

• Double pass regenerative furnace operation (50+ ton capacity)
• Gasifier operation (coal, wood, furnace oil, briquette)
• Soda Ash + Sand and Soda Ash + Quartz handling
• Dissolving plant and solid batching operations
• Sodium silicate production processes
• Crushing and mining plant operations (Quartz Stone)

Production Environment

The facility operates with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons, with 80 tons of solid output per month using the wet process with caustic soda flakes.
