Job Summary

Pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 as read with sections 57, 58 and 58A(5) of the County Governments Act, 2020 (2012), the Selection Panel invites applications from competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions:

• Chairperson of the Kwale County Public Service Board
• Members of the Kwale County Public Service Board

Terms and Conditions of Service

• Contract Duration: Six (6) years non-renewable contract
• Salary: As set out by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)

General Requirements for All Candidates

To qualify for appointment as Chairperson or Member of the Kwale County Public Service Board, candidates must meet the following requirements in accordance with Section 58(3) of the County Governments Act:

• Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution
• Not be a state or public officer
• Not have held office, or stood for election as a member of Parliament or county assembly, or as a member of a political party's governing body within the preceding five years
• Not be, or have been a candidate for election as a member of Parliament or county assembly
• Not hold, or have held office in any political organization that sponsors or supports candidates for election as a member of Parliament or county assembly

Qualifications for Chairperson

• Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
• Working experience: Not less than ten years
• Professional status with demonstrated absence of breach of relevant professional code of conduct

Qualifications for Members

• Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
• Relevant working experience required
