Position Overview

The County Government of Kisumu is recruiting 5 Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainers III (Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology). This is a permanent and pensionable position.

Compensation and Benefits

• Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 27,900–36,680
• House Allowance: Ksh 3,850–4,500
• Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000
• Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
• Annual Leave: 30 working days
• Medical Cover: As provided by the County Government of Kisumu

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized training in accordance with approved curricula and established standards of instruction
• Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional aids
• Design, administer, and evaluate examinations and assignments to assess trainees' knowledge, skills, and competencies
• Undertake research and innovation activities under the guidance and mentorship of a senior trainer to enhance instructional content and methodology
• Supervise trainees in the execution of projects, industrial attachments, and practical work to ensure the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts

Requirements for Appointment

• Be a Kenyan Citizen
• Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a mean Grade D (Plain) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Hold a Diploma in one of the following disciplines:
  • Technical Education (Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology)
  • Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology Education/Technical Education
  • Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Be registered with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA)
• Have training in Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculum (added advantage)
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution
