System Administrator

Job Summary The System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and reliable operation of IT systems and infrastructure. The role ensures high availability, performance, and security of servers, networks, and platforms that support software development and business operations.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain servers (Linux/Windows)Manage on-premises and/or cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)Monitor system performance, availability, and capacityPerform regular system updates, patching, and upgradesConfigure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)Implement and enforce security controls and access managementMonitor for security incidents and respond to vulnerabilitiesEnsure compliance with security policies and best practicesImplement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutionsRegularly test backup restoration and recovery proceduresMaintain system documentation and recovery plansParticipate in Sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives as neededProvide Tier 2/3 technical support for system-related issuesTroubleshoot system, network, and performance problemsWork with Solve Addis development team and IT support technicians on escalationsMaintain system logs, alerts, and incident reportsMaintain accurate system configurations and diagramsRecommend infrastructure improvements and optimizationsStay current with emerging technologies and security trends
