## Title: Social Service Worker

About the Organization

HUNDEE - Oromo Grassroots Development Initiative is a local non-partisan, not-for-profit secular charity organization established in April 1995. HUNDEE envisions a just world where women, men, boys, and girls live in dignity and prosperity. The organization promotes development and community education interventions across the Oromia National Regional State.

HUNDEE has secured funding to implement a project delivering family-focused HIV prevention, testing, care services, and interventions for vulnerable children across multiple towns in Oromia, including Adaba, Adola, Bule-Hora, Negele Arsi, Odo-Shakiso, Shakiso, Shashemene, Yabello, Becho, Burayu, Woliso, Kofele, and Dire (Mega).

Project Purpose

The project aims to strengthen local HIV epidemic control to ensure that 95% of individuals living with HIV know their status, 95% of persons living with HIV initiate antiretroviral therapy, and 95% of clients on antiretroviral therapy achieve viral load suppression.

Position Summary

Under the direction and close supervision of the Care and Support Officer or OVC Service Specialist, the Social Service Worker is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and supporting case management activities within their assigned Kebele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with community leaders and Community Resource Persons (CRPs)
  • Prioritize and select the most vulnerable households and children living with HIV (CLHIV)
  • Mobilize resources and provide case management services for serious cases, particularly clients with adherence problems
  • Conduct household visits, enroll families, assess needs, and develop comprehensive care plans
  • Provide ongoing individual and group follow-up meetings with families
  • Manage caseloads of approximately 500 children
