About the Organization
The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) has been awarded a four-year program grant from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the European Union to implement the "Transform Soil Fertility Management in Ethiopia" (TRANSFORM) program. IFDC serves as the lead implementer in partnership with local and international consortium partners.
Program Overview
The TRANSFORM program aims to transform soil health and fertility management in Ethiopia by:
- Sustainably increasing the productivity of 100,000 small-scale food producers
- Improving the sustainable use of 65,000 hectares of farmland
- Building a vibrant soil input sector with strong private sector engagement
Project Scope
TRANSFORM will develop five business cases for innovative soil inputs to provide the evidence and assurance necessary to drive private sector investment. The support will improve the availability and accessibility of soil inputs for small-scale food producers across 12 districts in the Amhara, Oromia, and Central Ethiopia regions.
Position Overview
IFDC invites experienced consulting firms to submit technical and financial proposals to:
- Develop business cases for soil input products
- Provide capacity building for private investors in the soil input sector
- Deliver backstopping support for private actors
