Our programs focus on child protection, psychosocial support, family strengthening, and community empowerment.Position OverviewSHAMIDA Ethiopia is seeking a qualified and dedicated Psychologist to provide professional psychological services to children residing at SHAMIDA’s Shelter (CCD Homes). The position requires a strong foundation in psychological science combined with empathy, ethical responsibility, and effective communication to support children’s mental health, emotional well-being, and behavioral development in a safe and supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment and TherapyConduct psychological assessments and diagnose emotional, behavioral, and developmental conditions.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.Provide evidence-based therapy, including play therapy, CBT, trauma-informed, individual, group, and family sessions.Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.Family Support and CollaborationSupport and guide parents and caregivers on children’s emotional and behavioral needs.Advocate for children’s mental health within shelters, schools, and communities.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and refer cases to specialized services when necessary.Documentation and Professional PracticeMaintain accurate and confidential client records and reports.Participate in learning, research, and evidence-based practice.Adhere to ethical standards and best practices in psychology.Salary and BenefitsSalary and benefits are based on the organizational scale.
