Job Summary

Assist the Clinic Doctor in planning, organizing, and coordinating clinic activities. Ensure the provision of adequate preventive and curative health care services, including the availability of adequate medical supplies and equipment. Provide treatment to women during prenatal and postnatal periods, and diagnose and treat diseases of the female reproductive tract. Examine clients for gynecological and related reproductive health/family planning concerns, order laboratory tests, prescribe contraceptives and medications, and deliver lectures and practical training.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Clinical Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating clinic activities
• Plan individual activities and review performance
• Direct and undertake duties and responsibilities of clinical, public, and environmental services
• Screen, examine, and counsel clients on integrated and comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, including family planning (FP), maternal and child health (MCH), HIV/STI, and comprehensive abortion care (CAC)
• Diagnose, examine, and monitor clients for different SRH problems
• Order laboratory tests and examinations
• Prescribe contraceptives and other medications
• Provide services and treatment for integrated and comprehensive SRH services
• Insert and remove IUCDs and Norplant; assist doctors in voluntary surgical contraception procedures
• Refer clients to senior doctors as required
• Assist in the training of health professionals in reproductive health and family planning
• Maintain quality SRH services
• Prepare service statistics and participate in research activities
• Assist in requisitioning supplies and medicaments
• Prepare lesson plans and deliver lectures on family planning to health personnel from hospitals, health centers, clinics, FGAE, and other health institutions
• Provide guidance and counseling to health personnel
• Deliver and demonstrate practical training in family planning
