Mechanic

About the Role

The Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor within the Maintenance Department and is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted production by maintaining machines, molds, ancillaries, and utilities in optimal working condition. The role focuses on preventive, autonomous, and reactive maintenance to achieve standard machine capacity, minimize downtime, control maintenance costs, and ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive & Autonomous Maintenance

• Perform Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) of machines, molds, ancillaries, and utilities according to approved schedules
• Update maintenance reports and work orders upon completion

Maintenance Planning

• Develop AM and PM schedules and submit for approval
• Ensure strict adherence to maintenance calendar

Proactive Maintenance

• Raise maintenance requests for proactive servicing with Supervisor/Manager approval
• Ensure work orders are updated after completion

Reactive Maintenance

• Inform Supervisor immediately and initiate corrective actions in case of equipment breakdown
• Complete and update work orders accordingly

Equipment Readiness

• Ensure all machines, molds, ancillaries, and utilities are ready for production at all times

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• Prepare and maintain spare parts lists and minimum stock levels
• Coordinate with store to monitor stock levels
• Forecast and request imported spare parts at least three months in advance

External Job Work Management

• Identify need for outsourced repair work and obtain quotations
• Prepare job work documentation and secure approvals
• Monitor progress and quality of outsourced jobs

Training & Team Development

• Prepare training calendar and train assistants according to process requirements
