Inpatient Head-Level II

Job Summary

Working with and reporting to the MCH Specialty Centre Manager, the Inpatient Head Level II plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates the activities of the MCH Centre inpatient services. This role ensures the effective and efficient delivery of clinical MCH services and that the Inpatient section has all required supplies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

• Participate actively in MCH Specialty Centre management team and facilitate quarterly performance reviews of service uptake
• Contribute to annual business plans and facilitate the business planning process including service target setting and activity planning in MCH Centre
• Participate in MCH services annual targets setting and ensure implementation of approved targets
• Prepare and submit work plans and budgets for Inpatient services

Team Leadership

• Provide overall leadership and direction to Inpatient staff to achieve MSI Ethiopia's mission, strategic objectives, and centre targets
• Coordinate the Inpatient unit (delivery, OR, Bed service, 2nd trimester) and organize, deploy, and supervise staff in accordance with MSIE personnel policies
• Establish effective communication systems within the Inpatient staff and other units of the MCH Specialty Centre, technical and operational teams
• Establish priorities and focuses of Inpatient services and ensure alignment with overall MCH centre priorities
• Coach and provide expertise in developing strong technical skills among the team
• Monitor and track MCH services provided by Inpatient staff and control quality
• Ensure Inpatient staff are motivated in service provision
• Handle all human resource issues for Inpatient staff according to MSIE procedures
• Assess training needs
