## Title: Gender and Development Officer

Position Overview

ODWaCE (Organization for the Development of Women And Children in Ethiopia) is recruiting a Gender and Development Officer to contribute to gender mainstreaming across projects, strengthen advocacy initiatives, support resource mobilization efforts, and ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems for gender-related interventions.

Duty Station and Employment Terms

  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with possible field travel)
  • Employment Type: One year contract with possibility of extension depending on performance and availability of funds

Key Responsibilities

Program Implementation and Gender Mainstreaming

  • Support the planning, implementation, and coordination of gender and social development programs
  • Ensure integration of gender equality and social inclusion principles across organizational projects
  • Conduct gender analysis and contribute to gender-responsive project design and implementation
  • Provide technical support to project teams to strengthen gender-sensitive programming

Advocacy and Networking

  • Contribute to advocacy initiatives that promote gender equality, women's empowerment, and the elimination of harmful traditional practices
  • Engage with government institutions, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to promote gender-responsive policies and programs
  • Participate in relevant national and regional networks, platforms, and forums related to gender equality and social development

Resource Mobilization and Proposal Development

  • Support the identification of funding opportunities related to development and humanitarian programs
