GBV/PSS Officer – Re-advertisement

Job Summary

The GBV Protection and PSS (Psychosocial Support) Officer is responsible for providing coordination and supervision for the effective implementation of the Women Led in Emergency project at ground level. The position holder will strengthen healing services within WGSS and directly provide gender, safeguarding, and protection mainstreaming.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Implementation of Program Activities (20% of time)

• Ensure planning and implementation of project activities align with program principles, approaches, and procedures of the organization
• Work closely with other project staff and partners in planning and implementing project activities
• Ensure effective implementation of project activities according to the set plan of action and donor requirements
• Ensure all plans are developed on an annual, quarterly, and weekly basis and that project officers and facilitators follow these timelines

Women Led in Emergency (WLiE) and EMAP Model Implementation (60% of time)

• Implement the WLiE methodology in both woredas according to WLiE model guidelines
• Implement the Engaging Men and Boys in Accountability Practice (EMAP) approach according to EMAP guidelines
• Identify and coordinate opportunities for WLiE and engaging men and boys programming to be connected and strengthened through joint implementation
• Conduct healing and traditional activities within WGSS
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with the WLiE project manager and WLiE advisor on WLiE and EMAP activity implementation and learnings
• Facilitate woreda-based WLiE and EMAP workshops and trainings
• Organize, document, and share learnings and good practices from WLiE and EMAP model implementations
• Develop and share standard progress reporting according to donor templates and as required
• Provide professional PSS services and specialized referrals for those who need them
